Sarawak · Professional Visit Pass

Professional Visit Pass document checklist, Sarawak

What to gather before we file. Both lists fork: the applicant’s depends on nationality, and the company’s depends on whether you hold a business address in Sarawak.

The short answer

A Sarawak Professional Visit Pass needs documents from the applicant and from the sponsoring company. What the applicant provides depends on whether they’re Malaysian. What the company provides depends on whether it has a business address in Sarawak: without one, the purchase order or letter of award has to be a certified true copy, and the trade licence and tenancy agreement don’t apply. The pass runs six months and renews once.

What does the applicant provide?

The list forks on nationality. A Malaysian gives us the IC and the biodata page; a foreign national gives us the whole passport, blank pages included.

What does the sponsoring company provide?

This is where the two cases genuinely differ. If your company holds a business address in Sarawak you evidence it, and the purchase order can be an ordinary copy. Without one, that purchase order carries the weight instead, and it has to be certified.

What happens after approval?

A foreign national needs an eVISA before entering Malaysia, and it is what lets the pass be endorsed on arrival. Approval of the pass is not the last step.

Requirements change without notice and differ by country of nationality. Check with the nearest Malaysian embassy before you rely on any of this.
