What the work actually is
It’s documentary, procedural, and it lands on real people. A missing attestation keeps someone’s family in another country for another month. The wrong pass puts a client in front of an enforcement officer. Most of the job is reading regulations closely, building files that survive scrutiny, and telling clients things they don’t want to hear.
- Close reading and precise writing matter more than sales ability.
- Bahasa Malaysia and English are both used daily; Mandarin is useful.
- Sarawak and federal procedure differ, and both have to be held in your head.
- The work is in Kuching. There is no staffed office anywhere else.
